My question has nothing to do with the article. This is my last attempt in getting an answer for a question i have researched for a while on the internet. I read Emotional Intelligence and i believe in it, but can anyone please tell me what are some of the best books in applying it. A lot of the books i have ordered emphasise on the importance of it but does not give any practical guidance on improving emotional intelligence with simple every day type of exercises such as those found in Feeling Good by David Burns. Why is it that something that promise so much and great hope give so little to work on?

Dear Daniel Goleman,

I'm Chinese student from Peking University. And I’m glad to land on your site.

I've just heard a speech from John Chambers, the CEO of Cisco systems this morning at our university. He just talked about his understanding of Tech and Touch. He metioned that not only in daily life but in business,High Tech is making people more and more isolated.Through videoconference,he can talk to his stuff in London or Hongkong at any time he want.

so my question is how a leader should react to this kind of phenomenon,in emotional intelligence sense. Is there some new research in this area?

Thanks a lot.
